The Interlaced learning mentor position functions as a combined online/on-site learning mentor which interlaces:

• Career-readiness
• critical life skills, and 
• Kingdom values. 

The Interlaced Learning Mentor is responsible for assisting with implementation and monitoring of the InterlacED curriculum, which includes, but is not limited to: core content areas (ELA, Mathematics, Science, History) and the GOODLIFE curriculum. Tutoring is also a huge part of this role!

Founder’s Note: This position is NOT a standard learning mentor role like those found in a brick-and-mortar school. If you like the idea of mentoring outside of the box, flexible seating for students, and focusing on those areas where you want to make those “they should teach this in school” a reality, this position IS for you!  ParagonED is a fun, fast-paced school where you can create, design, and feel what it’s like to work in a start-up and doing what you love!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of all personnel within this position, but these are the key ones!

• Building positive relationships with students who know you truly care about their success.
• Serving all students with quality interlaced (remote/digital and on-site, hands-on) learning experiences.
• Providing career-experiences.
• Participating in applicable staff development training.
• Collaborative consultation with school personnel. 
• Collaboration with the teaching and administrative staff.
• Comprehend the curriculum in its entirety for assigned grade levels and content areas.
• Demonstrate knowledge of general curriculum standards and how they align with the core content, the life skills experiences, and the GOODLIFE curricula.
• Understand overall individualized needs of assigned families and unique characteristics of students/parents; specifically, how this impacts the supports needed.
• Utilizes asynchronous and synchronous tools to augment course content according to prescribed policies and procedures set by ParagonED.
• Orients students to courses and communicates course requirements in coordination with the Interlaced Teacher.
• Grades in a timely manner in coordination with the Interlaced Teacher.
• Maintains on-site classroom hours and conducts small group instructional sessions.
• Sets and enforces deadlines for student work in coordination with the Interlaced Teacher.
• Supports parents with student curricular, behavioral, and instructional issues.
• Responsible for student academic progress and attendance in coordination with the Interlaced Teacher.
• Balances flexibility of the Interlaced Curriculum with ParagonED’s policies and procedures.
• Conducts conferences with students and guardians/parents in coordination with the Interlaced Teacher.
• Individualizes instruction/tutors to help each student achieve their grade specific curricular objectives and Kingdom Values.
• Participates in after school functions, when necessary.
• Collaborates and communicates effectively with colleagues. 
• Has fun and enjoys time with students!

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education a plus, but not necessary.
• EC-5 or 4-8 certification a plus, but not necessary. 
• Willingness to participate in ParagonED training.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

• 3 years of classroom experience preferred.
• Experience working with K-8 students and hybrid learning preferred.
• Must have a positive attitude and perception about the goals of ParagonED/ Kingdom Values.
• Must be flexible with working hours and varying hours each week based on the school’s needs.
• Should be willing to expand Interlaced teaching best practices through professional development.
• Should have knowledge of best practices related to individual student learning.
• English language skills required.
• Must be very self-motivated.

BUDGET AND/OR RESOURCE RESPONSIBILITY:

Must be able to budget for classroom activities and submit itemized receipts. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. There are no special vision abilities required by this job.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

MENTAL FUNCTIONS:

The K-8 Interlaced teacher position functions as a combined online/on-site teacher interlacing: career-readiness, critical life skills, and Kingdom values. K-8 certification and strengths in ELA and Mathematics are needed. The Interlaced teacher is responsible for implementation and monitoring the Interlaced curriculum, which includes, but is not limited to: core content areas (ELA, Mathematics, Science,  and History) and the GOODLIFE curriculum. The Interlaced teacher will deliver instruction in the in-person and online learning environment and will develop classroom lessons. The Interlaced teacher will develop essential components of face-to-face interventions and enrichments, which will be developed and delivered according to data-driven decision making philosophies and research.

• Demonstrate knowledge of the core content standards and how they align with Spark and the GOODLIFE curricula.
• Understand overall distinctiveness of assigned families and individual characteristics of students/parents; specifically, how this impacts learning support(s) needed.
• Utilizes asynchronous and synchronous tools to augment course content according to prescribed policies and procedures set by ParagonED.
• Orients students to courses and communicates course requirements.

• Maintains regular on-site classroom hours and conducts instructional sessions.

• Provides quality feedback to student work, presentations, and assessments to ensure mastery.
• Supports parents with student curricular, behavioral, and instructional issues.
• Responsible for student academic progress and attendance.
• Balances flexibility of the interlaced curriculum with ParagonED’s policies and procedures.
• Conducts conferences with students and guardians/ parents.
• Individualizes instruction to help each student achieve their grade specific curricular objectives and meet appropriate learning standards and Kingdom values.
• Participates in after school functions, when necessary.
• Follows chain of command and brings concerns/ needs to the Head Master. 
• Collaborates and communicates effectively with colleagues. 

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education,  preference given to certified teacher, EC-6 or 4-8 Certified, preferred 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

• Three + years of nontraditional classroom teaching experience preferred.
• Experience working with K-8 students and supporting students/ parents in the use of technology.
• Must have a positive attitude and perception about the goals of ParagonED/ Kingdom Values.
• Experience with hybrid learning is preferred, but not required.
• Must be flexible with working hours.
• Should be willing to expand Interlaced (hybrid) teaching best practices through professional development.
• Should have expertise in virtual and hybrid pedagogy.
• Should have knowledge of best practices related to individual student learning.
• English language skills required.
• Required to agree to alignment of Kingdom design.
• Must be very self-motivated.

Job Title: Program Coordinator

Position: Entry Level Position

School Year: 2024-25

Start Date: July 15th, 2024

Compensation: $10/hour + bonus

Job Description:

The Program Coordinator is a dynamic and creative individual responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our office for the 2024-25 school year. This role is perfect for someone who is organized, proactive, and has a knack for communication and social media.

Key Responsibilities:

• Office Improvement:
  • Provide innovative ideas to enhance office systems and printed materials.
• Information Sessions and Tours:
  • Conduct informational sessions and provide tours for parents on-site.
• Attendance Management:
  • Make calls to parents of absent students to ensure accurate attendance records.
• Social Media Management:
  • Create engaging posts for Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Take photos and videos of school events for social media.
• Content Creation and Proofreading:
  • Proof-read brochures, letters, and PowerPoint presentations.
• Errands:
  • Occasionally run errands for school supplies and office items.
• Event and Information Packet Management:
  • Compose swag bags, parent info packets, and information session packets.
• Supply Management:
  • Manage and maintain office supply lists.
• Parent Engagement:
  • Make follow-up calls and send follow-up emails to parents who have shown interest.
  • Promote MasterMind sessions through emails and social media posts.
• Communication and Coordination:
  • Answer school phones and direct calls to the appropriate staff member.
  • Maintain calendars for staff and students, including tracking days off.
• Additional Duties:
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the school's operations.
