We're Hiring!

K-8 Learning Support Mentor

Academic Support Mentor (Part-Time)

Locations: Frisco, TX & Southlake, TX (In-Person Required)

Your Expertise, Without the “Administrative Junk.”

Do you miss the students and the classroom energy, but not the mountain of paperwork, planning, and parent-call exhaustion?

At ParagonED, we know that the best teachers are often bogged down by the very things that keep them from their “superpower”—actually being with students. We are looking for Academic Support Mentors to join our team. This isn’t a lead-teaching role. This is the opportunity to be the secret weapon in our classroom, helping our lead teachers thrive while you get to focus on what actually matters: the students.

Why This Role?

This is a part-time position designed for the retired educator, the former teacher taking a season at home, or the seasoned pro who wants to stay active in education without the responsibility of a lead-teacher workload.

You’ll work 4 half-days per week, splitting your time equally between our Frisco and Southlake campuses (2 days at each).

What You’ll Do

You will report directly to the lead teacher. Your role is to be the “everything” support they need to move the needle for our students. One day you might be leading a small group in a core subject, the next you might be diving into grading and meaningful feedback, and the day after that you might be facilitating a station in our hybrid learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Engagement: Facilitate small-group instruction (maintaining a 1:10 ratio) to ensure every child gets the attention they need.
  • Teacher Partnership: Alleviate the administrative load by handling grading, lesson support, and classroom operations.
  • Instructional Flexibility: Pivot between roles—from small-group instructor to classroom facilitator—as the day demands.
  • Cultural Support: Help maintain a positive, Kingdom-centered environment where students feel known and challenged.

The Schedule

  • Hours: 4 half-days per week.
  • Campus Commitment: 2 days in Frisco, 2 days in Southlake.
  • The “No-Take-Home” Promise: Your work stays at school. No grading, planning, or emails after you leave our doors.

Who You Are

  • The “Yes” Mindset: You love being in the room and don’t believe in “that’s not my job.”
  • Experienced & Adaptable: You are comfortable working across different grade levels and subjects. You have enough experience to know how a classroom works, even if you’ve been out of the game for a while.
  • A Team Player: You report to the lead teacher, so you thrive on supporting a vision rather than carrying the full weight of it.
  • Kingdom-Minded: You align with the values we pour into our students every day.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree is a plus, but passion and experience are what we value most. If you have a background in education, we want to hear from you.
  • Experience: Comfort teaching/supporting across multiple grades and subjects is required.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to serve at both the Frisco and Southlake campuses is non-negotiable.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with educational technology platforms.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Hourly Rate: Based on your experience and the value you bring to our teachers. ($15–$23/hour)
  • Flexibility: A true part-time role that respects your time and your life outside of school.
  • Impact: You get all the best parts of being in a school—the “aha” moments, the relationships, the energy—without the burnout-inducing workload of a full-time lead position.

Why ParagonED?

We’re a hybrid, entrepreneurial microschool. We believe in small groups, high-quality instruction, and a culture where teachers are supported and mentors like you are treated as the professionals you are. You’ll be joining a team that is building something truly different.

How to Apply

  • We don’t want a long, formal cover letter. Send us your resume and a brief note answering this: What is one thing about the “old way” of teaching that you are happy to leave behind, and what is one thing about students you are excited to get back to?

PT - Humanities Adjunct Teacher (Grade 9)

Teach Your Passion Without the Full-Time Load.

ParagonED Hybrid Microschool | Frisco & Southlake, Texas
2026–2027 School Year | Part-Time | In-Person

ParagonED is looking for an experienced educator to join our growing high school program as a Part-Time Humanities Adjunct Teacher.

This is an opportunity to teach 9th Grade English Language Arts and History without taking on the workload, bureaucracy, and full-time commitment of a traditional school position.

If you're a current or former teacher who still loves working with students but wants a more focused, relational, and flexible role, this may be a great fit.

What You'll Teach

You will serve as the Humanities teacher for our high school students, supporting:

  • 9th Grade English Language Arts
  • 9th Grade History

You'll use ParagonED's existing digital curriculum as your foundation while having flexibility to adapt the in-person experience to meet student needs.

We especially value:

  • Discussion and seminar-based learning
  • Project-based learning
  • Hands-on experiences
  • Critical thinking
  • Real-world connections
  • Strong student relationships

We don't want students spending their entire school day staring at a computer. We want teachers who can take the curriculum and turn it into meaningful experiences with real people, real conversations, and real-world application.

The Schedule

This position serves both ParagonED campuses, with the same course preparation taught at each location.

Monday — Frisco

  • 8:00 AM–3:30 PM

Wednesday — Southlake

  • 8:00 AM–3:30 PM

The schedule includes instructional time as well as planning, preparation, grading, student support, and other scheduled responsibilities.

Optional Friday hours may also be available for teachers who would like additional work, based on school needs and available hours.

No same-day travel between campuses is required.

Compensation

$32–$42/hour, depending on experience, certifications, subject expertise, and overall fit for the role.

We want to compensate experienced educators appropriately while maintaining the flexibility that makes this position different from a traditional full-time teaching role.

What Makes ParagonED Different?

You won't spend your days:

  • Managing endless discipline referrals
  • Teaching primarily to standardized tests
  • Sitting in unnecessary meetings
  • Following a one-size-fits-all instructional model
  • Dealing with layers of district bureaucracy

Instead, you'll:

  • Build meaningful relationships with students
  • Lead discussions and seminars
  • Facilitate projects and hands-on learning
  • Help students connect learning to the real world
  • Mentor students academically and personally
  • Work closely with a small, collaborative team
  • Have the flexibility to make learning engaging

About ParagonED

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with high school students
  • Ability to work in person at both campuses
  • Alignment with ParagonED's Christian mission and Kingdom Values
  • A collaborative, flexible, and student-centered mindset

Preferred

  • Current teaching certification in any state
  • Classroom teaching experience
  • Experience teaching English Language Arts and/or History
  • Experience with high school students
  • Project-based learning experience
  • Hybrid or innovative learning experience
  • Experience creating engaging, hands-on learning experiences

Who Might Love This Role?

This position may be particularly attractive to:

  • Retired or recently retired teachers
  • Experienced educators looking for part-time work
  • Teachers who want to stay connected to students without returning to full-time teaching
  • Educators looking for a smaller, more relational environment
  • Professionals with strong humanities backgrounds and teaching experience
  • Teachers who want more freedom to innovate

You don't have to be retired. We're looking for great educators who want to teach differently.

Interested?

If you're an experienced educator who wants to teach fewer hours, build deeper relationships, and have a meaningful impact on students, we'd love to hear from you.
