The InterlacED* learning mentor position functions as a combined online/on-site learning mentor which interlaces:
The InterlacED* Learning Mentor is responsible for assisting the teacher in the classroom with the implementation and monitoring of the InterlacED curriculum, which includes, but is not limited to: core content areas (ELA, Mathematics, Science, History, and Art), as well Kingdom Values courses.
Founder’s Note: This position is NOT a standard learning mentor role like those found in a brick-and-mortar school. If you like the idea of mentoring outside of the box, flexible seating for students, and focusing on those areas where you want to make those “they should teach this in school” a reality, this position IS for you! ParagonED is a fun, fast-paced school where you can create, design, and feel what it’s like to work in a start-up and doing what you love!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
• 3 years of classroom experience preferred.
• Experience working with K-8 students and hybrid learning preferred.
• Must have a positive attitude and perception about the goals of ParagonED/ Kingdom Values.
• Must be flexible with working hours and varying hours each week based on the school’s needs.
• Should be willing to expand Interlaced teaching best practices through professional development.
• Should have knowledge of best practices related to individual student learning.
• English language skills required.
• Must be very self-motivated.
BUDGET AND/OR RESOURCE RESPONSIBILITY:
Must be able to budget for classroom activities and submit itemized receipts.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The K-8 Interlaced teacher position functions as a combined online/on-site teacher interlacing: Career-Readiness, Critical Life Skills, and Kingdom Values. K-8 certification and strengths in ELA and Mathematics are needed.
The InterlacED* teacher is responsible for implementation and monitoring the InterlacED* curriculum, which includes, but is not limited to: core content areas (ELA, Mathematics, Science, and History) and Kingdom Values courses. In addition, electives will be taught within the digital learning platform, which vary each semester, based on student interest.
The InterlacED* teacher will deliver instruction in the in-person and online learning environment and will develop classroom lessons. The InterlacED* teacher will develop essential components of face-to-face interventions and enrichments, which will be developed and delivered according to data-driven decision making philosophies and research.
